If you’re studying at Monash and need a GP near Monash University Clayton, Mediclinic is a short trip south in Clayton South. We see many Monash students, both domestic and international, for everyday health care, sexual health and mental health support. We aim to make care straightforward, confidential and free of judgement.
OSHC direct billing
If you’re an international student, we hold Direct Billing Agreements with these OSHC providers:
- BUPA
- NIB
- IMAN
- Medibank
- AHM
- Allianz
Bring proof that you’re a student and your OSHC card (physical or digital). Show them to reception before your appointment. We collect any gap fee on the day and claim the rest from your insurer. Without your card and student proof, you’ll pay a private fee and can claim it back yourself. See International students and OSHC.
Sexual health, PrEP and PEP
We’re a GP Partner of the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre. That means you can get STI testing and treatment close to campus. Pathology is collected onsite on the day, and results usually take 2–3 business days. We also prescribe HIV PrEP and PEP. If you need PEP, it must be started within 72 hours. Outside our hours, go to an emergency department or call the PEP hotline on 1800 889 887. See Sexual health clinic and PrEP and PEP.
Mediclinic is LGBTIQ+ friendly and taking part in Thorne Harbour Health’s “All Are Welcome” pilot.
Mental health support
Study pressure, exams, money worries and being far from home can all affect your mental health. You can talk to one of our GPs, who can help you make a plan. Where suitable, they can refer you to our onsite clinical psychologist, Cherie Lacis. She has a particular interest in adult ADHD, depression, anxiety and trauma. See Mental health.
