Sexual health

Sexual health care in partnership with Melbourne Sexual Health Centre

As a GP Partner of Melbourne Sexual Health Centre through the Sexual Health in Practice (SHIP) program, our doctors and nurses offer STI testing and treatment, PrEP and PEP prescriptions, with pathology collected on the day and results in 2–3 business days.

We are LGBTIQ+ friendly, sex-worker friendly and inclusive, and take part in Thorne Harbour Health’s All Are Welcome project.

Why Mediclinic

A practice built around people, not appointments

Family-inclusive since 1969

We recognise the value of involving families and carers, and take a holistic view of physical, social and mental health.

Everything under one roof

Onsite pathology collection, psychology, podiatry, physiotherapy and a dietitian, so you can get more done in one visit.

Practical support

Our Patient Support Services team helps regular patients with NDIS and DSP applications, housing, family violence support and advocacy.

Care in your language

Our clinicians speak Mandarin, Shanghainese, Malay and German, and we can arrange the free Translating and Interpreting Service.

Clear, upfront fees

Our fees are published, with bulk billing for some eligible patients and Medicare rebates processed on the spot.

Everyone is welcome

LGBTIQ+ and sex-worker friendly, international students welcome with OSHC direct billing, and a non-judgemental approach for everyone.

Frequently asked questions

Are you taking new patients?

Yes, Mediclinic welcomes new patients. Please complete our new patient registration before your first visit and arrive 10 minutes early. Some services, such as pharmacotherapy, may have limited places, so call reception to check.

Do you bulk bill?

Mediclinic is a mixed billing practice. Some practitioners bulk bill eligible patients at their discretion, such as children, people aged 65 and over, concession and DVA card holders, and care plans or health assessments. Other appointments have a private fee with a Medicare rebate, which we can process on the spot. See our fees page for details.

Can I walk in without an appointment?

We see patients by appointment only, with no walk-ins. Urgent appointments can be arranged where needed through our triage process, so please call reception. In an emergency, call 000.

Do I need a referral to see a GP for drug and alcohol support?

No. You can book directly with one of our GPs or our AOD Nurse Practitioner. Your visit is confidential. Read more about our drug and alcohol services.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is free onsite parking at the clinic.
