Studying in Australia away from home can be exciting and stressful at the same time. If you’re an international student looking for an OSHC doctor in Clayton, Mediclinic is in Clayton South, a short trip from Monash University’s Clayton campus. We accept Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and hold direct billing agreements with several student insurers.
Seeing an OSHC doctor in Clayton
We hold Direct Billing Agreements with these student insurance providers:

Mediclinic is a mixed-billing practice. On the day of your appointment, we collect any gap fee and claim the rest from your insurer. Please check with reception when you book that your insurer can be claimed on the day.
What to bring
- Proof that you’re an international student (for example, your student ID or confirmation of enrolment)
- Your OSHC card (physical or digital)
- Photo ID, such as your passport
Show these to reception before your appointment. If you can’t show proof of your student status and your OSHC card, you’ll need to pay a private fee. We’ll give you a receipt so you can claim the money back from your insurer.

- Mental health. Study pressure, homesickness, anxiety or low mood. You can talk to a GP, and we have onsite clinical psychology. See Mental health.
- Vaccinations. Including flu vaccines and travel vaccines before a trip home. See Vaccinations.
- Medical certificates and referrals. Including pathology, which Australian Clinical Labs collects onsite.
Languages
Our team includes practitioners who speak Mandarin and Shanghainese (Dr Xue-Feng Hu), Malay (Dr Robina Hanafi), and German and basic Spanish (Dr Vivian). If you’d like to see one of them, ask when you book. You can also ask for a free interpreter through the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS).
Booking an appointment
Book online at /book/ or call (03) 9544 1555. We’re open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and we see patients by appointment only. There are no walk-ins. Urgent appointments are triaged.
New patients need to attend in person for their first visit. Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill in the registration form, or complete the online form first. See New patients.

Getting here from Monash Clayton
We’re at Factory 25, 14–26 Audsley Street, Clayton South. It’s the first building on the left as you turn into Audsley Street from Centre Road. Clayton station is roughly a 10-minute walk away, and buses link Monash University with Clayton. Use the PTV journey planner for the best route from your campus or home. If you drive, there’s free onsite parking.

Do you accept OSHC?
Yes. We hold direct billing agreements with BUPA, NIB, IMAN, Medibank, AHM and Allianz. Check with reception that your insurer can be claimed on the day. Bring proof of your student status and your OSHC card.
Will I have to pay anything?
Mediclinic is a mixed-billing practice, so a gap fee may apply. We collect any gap on the day and claim the rest from your insurer. If you can’t show your OSHC card and student proof, you pay a private fee and claim it back yourself.
Can I use a digital OSHC card?
Yes. A physical or digital card is fine. Show it to reception before your appointment.
Can international students get STI testing here?
Yes. Our sexual health clinic offers confidential STI testing and treatment, with pathology collected onsite. Book a “Sexual Health In Practice” appointment.
Do you have doctors who speak Mandarin?
Yes. Dr Xue-Feng Hu speaks Mandarin and Shanghainese. Ask for him when you book.
