Dr Ernesto Andrada is Mediclinic’s Principal GP, Director and Owner. He joined the practice in 2006 and has since led its growth into a multidisciplinary clinic offering general practice, drug and alcohol care, mental health, sexual health and allied health under one roof.

Training and experience

Dr Andrada graduated in medicine from De La Salle University in the Philippines before migrating to Australia, where he completed further study through the Australian Medical Council to register and practise here.

He completed his internship at St George Hospital in Sydney, then moved to Melbourne for residency training at Frankston Hospital and the Northern Hospital. As a GP registrar with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, based in Broken Hill, he gained broad experience across rural and remote medicine.

He holds Fellowships with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP).

How he practises

Dr Andrada has a particular interest in an integrated approach to managing complex health needs, where physical health, mental health, alcohol and other drug use, and social circumstances all affect each other. He works closely with the clinic’s Nurse Practitioners, psychologists and Patient Support Services team so that patients can get joined-up care in one place.

He is one of the clinic’s opioid pharmacotherapy prescribers. Please call reception to check current availability for new pharmacotherapy patients.

Outside the clinic

Dr Andrada is a keen photographer and enjoys tennis, scuba diving and kayaking.
