We’re closed. Then what?

When your GP is closed and you need care urgently, but it isn’t an emergency, you don’t always need to go to a hospital emergency department.

Urgent care clinics

Victoria has urgent care clinics, originally launched as Priority Primary Care Centres, that are led by GPs and open for extended hours. They help with urgent conditions that don’t need an emergency department, such as mild infections, minor fractures and burns. Care is free for patients, with or without a Medicare card, although some imaging or pathology may have costs.

Find your nearest clinic on healthdirect or the Better Health Channel.
