GP near Cheltenham

About 15–20 minutes from Cheltenham, Mediclinic offers chronic disease care, iron infusions, skin checks, podiatry and Nurse Practitioner care.

If you’re looking for a GP near Cheltenham, Mediclinic in Clayton South is about 15–20 minutes’ drive north-east. Cheltenham is a well-established bayside suburb with a large population of older adults alongside young families. For many people who travel to us from Cheltenham, it’s about continuity. That means a practitioner who knows their history and can coordinate care for several conditions.

Coordinated care for long-term conditions

If you’re managing more than one health condition, it helps to have a GP who sees the whole picture. Our practitioners provide:

  • Chronic disease management. Care plans and regular reviews for diabetes, heart disease, lung conditions and arthritis. See Chronic disease management.
  • Podiatry. Foot and nail care and diabetic foot care with our onsite podiatrist, Joe Spicuglia. Podiatry is bulk billed for eligible patients with a care plan from their Mediclinic GP. See Podiatry.
  • Iron infusions. For people with low iron where tablets haven’t worked or aren’t suitable. Suitability is assessed individually, and a gap fee applies. See Iron infusions.
  • Skin checks. Mole checks, biopsies and excisions. See Skin checks.
  • Asthma and COPD care. Our Nurse Practitioner Vara Perikala is an Asthma Educator with a background in respiratory and critical care nursing. See Asthma and respiratory care.

Seeing a Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced training who can assess, diagnose, prescribe and refer. Vara Perikala sees patients for chronic conditions, heart health and ECGs, skin checks, women’s health, immunisations and general health checks. Some people find a Nurse Practitioner appointment a good fit for ongoing reviews. See Vara Perikala.
